Job Description:
- The selected candidate for this position performs all assembly and disassembly operations to modify, repair, rework, retro-fit, upgrade and assemble cables mechanical, electronic, microelectronic, and hi-rel assemblies and sub-assemblies from operation instruction sheets, blue prints, process sheets, samples, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics in the manufacture of new and customer returned products.
- The selected candidate must be able to use jigs, fixtures, soldering irons, and other hand and power tools.
- The selected candidate must be able to operate departmental machines and equipment as required.
- The selected candidate must be able to perform paint touch-ups using tools such as Q-tips and artist brushes but excluding spray painting and mixing of paints.
- The selected candidate must be able to performs all minor set-ups/adjustments on drill presses, arbor presses, wire cutting machines, wire strippers, twisters, jigs, fixtures, and component cutting machines, tapping machine, and other similar equipment.
- The selected candidate must be able to receive and dispense to the lines, material, subassemblies, and/or assemblies. Maintains storage lines to assure flow of material. Handles shortage release forms. Moves material as directed.
- Verifies workmanship and product quality standards as they relate to specific assembly operations.
- The selected candidate must be able to collect data, prepare/maintain records, using either written or electronic media, as required and/or directed by supervision.
- The selected candidate will also be involved in storing, handling , use and disposal of hazardous waste chemicals such as; acids, caustics, flammables, poisons, and oxidizers, in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental protection laws.
Desired Experience:
Experience in assembly in an electronic manufacturing environment, preferably DOD experience.
Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Maintenance skills in electronics, mechanical or electromechanical device repair.
- Ability to read color codes on wiring and electrical components.
- Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment
- Basic understanding of email, database management, and word processor applications.

Job Description:
Performs the electrical tests & troubleshooting on subassemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications. Must read, understand & accurately follow prints, schematics, sketches, work from test procedures, and verbal & written instructions. Must prepare test reports as required. May be required to perform soldering and/or mechanical assembly.
Must have knowledge of electronic principles such as digital, analog, circuit analysis and RF applications; Test and troubleshoot electronic units and circuit boards; Use of equipment such as oscilloscope, logic probes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzer, etc.
Required:
- Must pass the pre-qualification evaluation tool.
- Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Technology
- Computer Skills
- Some assignments require a security clearance, can you get a security clearance if required?
